Three In Contention for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a unprecedented innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
