Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
